The practical electric scooter that seeks to revolutionize home delivery

In recent times, the idea of replacing the conventional car with an electrified two-wheeled vehicle has become increasingly popular for many people. In addition to zero-emission motorcycles, today there is a wide variety of electric bicycles that have not only established themselves as mobility alternatives but are also capable of providing professional solutions for uses such as parcel delivery.

And not just bikes, since electric scooters are also evolving at a surprising speed to become true allies for the aforementioned delivery sector, currently known as “last mile”. One of the most striking innovations in this area is the Scootility which, according to its creators, has been designed to demonstrate that scooters are capable of much more than just transporting people.

Developed by a Canadian electric mobility start-up with the same name as the vehicle, the Scootility is emerging as a great solution for the urban transportation of small goods. It should be noted that it is designed to be fast, agile and to offer comfortable and easy driving. This electric scooter is mainly aimed at delivery people of all types, from conventional couriers to, for example, urgent medication delivery services.

One of the most notable features of the vehicle is its 140-liter cargo box located in the front. It must be taken into account that it can be locked, that it is resistant to inclement weather and that it allows users to transport all types of merchandise. In addition, said charging box can be exchanged for another if necessary.

This practical feature allows delivery drivers who must deliver a load to one location and pick up another quickly to speed up their work. According to its creators, the Scootility is capable of transporting a greater payload than an electric bicycle or moped, but it is more compact and agile than a bicycle or an electric cargo van.

As the start-up points out, the vehicle's low center of gravity as well as the chassis design guarantee its stability and maneuverability. The electric scooter is equipped with a 16-inch tire at the front and a 13-inch tire at the rear, and has front and rear suspension to promote both ride comfort and cargo protection.

The double battery pack that powers the electric motor is located under the platform and offers a range of up to 100 km. Thanks to the fact that the batteries are removable, the scooter can quickly get back on the road after replacing an empty one with a recharged one.

The vehicle is equipped with an LED lighting system and a folding area to rest your knees that also functions as a compartment to store, for example, documents or a tablet.

If you are interested in knowing how the first Scootility prototypes behaved in motion in their initial creation phase when the project started, you just have to take a look at the video that accompanies this article.
