The PP will audit the public accounts and European funds and will lower the IRPF

Alberto Núñez Feijóo will present today the electoral program that he promises to apply if he is elected president of the government, because he has asked the drafting team that all the measures can be applied. These proposals range from an audit of European funds to a reduction in personal income tax for those who earn less than 40,000 euros, as well as eliminating the tax on large fortunes.

A program that will have a Minister of Economy –it will be a man– and that, according to Feijóo announced yesterday in an interview on El Programa de Ana Rosa, is not political because he has not had responsibility in any party, but he knows European politics and "when his name is known, Spain will sleep peacefully”.

The economic section of the PP program, to which La Vanguardia has had access, has the objective of "controlling the deficit and the debt and reducing the fiscal pressure", so that it "is not confiscatory", with the aim of alleviating the burden of families, the self-employed and companies. For this reason, it immediately plans to "correct the effects of inflation on the personal income tax rate, and will reduce the VAT on meat, fish and preserves, on a temporary basis", as the PP requested the Government, when the price of some basic products was lowered.

This will be accompanied by a "comprehensive reform of the tax system" with criteria of "efficiency, equity and sustainability of public services, aimed at protecting savings, investment and promoting job creation."

It also plans to eliminate the tax on large fortunes and leave the wealth tax in the hands of the autonomous communities. Feijóo is also committed to simplifying personal income tax and corporate tax for SMEs, paying attention to companies with losses and those that create jobs.

Among the measures advocated by the popular economic program, it is expected to incorporate the taxpayer's "right to make mistakes" in the tax system to minimize the consequences of failures that may occur in taxpayer returns.

In another order of measures, the PP intends to carry out an audit "and evaluation of the management of the funds, to know the true state of execution." It also ensures that it will implement the co-governance of these funds in order to expedite their execution and their arrival in the real economy.

PP sources explain that the purpose of the economic policy that Feijóo will apply will be to "promote investment", for which "the tax regime will be improved for new residents", who will be offered "attractive tax incentives".

In the PP team they point out that if they win the elections they will resort to the General State Intervention to undertake "a thorough review of the real situation of public accounts", so that there is "sustainable growth", and they will choose to intensify centralized contracting in administration to save costs.

Another of the objectives of the PP program is to "reindustrialize the economy" making better use of funds, for which a "National Reindustrialization Strategy" and a "strategic plan" will be drawn up that will allow "increasing up to 20% of GDP the weight of industry in the economy. To this end, it is planned to create an Office of Strategic Industrial Projects and a strategy will be promoted with a horizon of ten to fifteen years to develop the aerospace and defense sector.

In parallel, Feijóo is committed to preparing a Spain 2030 automotive plan, to promote the process of progressive decarbonization, and will bet on the implementation of public access surcharge infrastructures. It is also committed to seeking a stable electricity price for the industry.
