The number 3 of the PSOE-A related to the kidnapping of a councilor in Maracena leaves his position

Noel López has announced that he is "temporarily" departing from his functions as Organization Secretary of the PSOE of Andalusia "in view of the recent events that occurred last Thursday, which entail totally false accusations" against him, as he pointed out in reference to the investigation of the kidnapping, on February 21, of the socialist councilor of Maracena (Granada) Vanessa Romero, at the hands of who was at that time the sentimental partner of the mayoress of this town, Berta Linares (PSOE).

The general secretary of the PSOE-A, Juan Espadas, has informed the provincial secretaries of the Andalusian PSOE of this resignation of Noel López in the framework of a meeting that the socialist regional leader has held with them this Tuesday, as reported by the federation Andalusian in a note.

Last week, Noel López stressed that he has "no connection to the facts" being investigated by the Investigating Court number 5 of Granada for said kidnapping of a Maracena mayor, and in this sense he remarked that he is not "imputed" in this case .

Until now number three of the leadership of the Andalusian PSOE pronounced himself like this in a statement released after the aforementioned court of Granada lifted the secrecy of the summary in said case for the kidnapping of the socialist mayor and had raised the case to the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA) regarding Noel López himself, the councilor and the Town Planning councilor of this town, as confirmed by judicial sources to Europa Press.

The court has deducted testimony against Noel López, also former mayor of Maracena, raising the case to the TSJA as he is registered, and has done the same with the mayoress of Maracena and the councilor for Urban Planning, Antonio García Leyva, also fourth vice president and deputy for Economy of the Diputación de Granada, given the existence of possible "indications" of their involvement in the facts, although it will be the Andalusian high court who decides whether to call them to testify or the next steps to follow, according to the sources.

Now, Noel López has announced that he is "temporarily" resigning as Organization Secretary of the PSOE-A because he understands that he must "defend my innocence and honor above any other issue, while preserving any damage to the image of the party." (
