The mysterious charm of the smoking Ter

* The author is part of the community of readers of La Vanguardia

Spectacular sunrise in Osona, with mist at ground level, with arctic smoke in the waters of the River Ter and with the prospect of ghost clouds over Montseny, as we can see in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.

At the height of Gurb, with the Ter as it passes through the Colonia de Malars, the mists have taken over the river giving the landscape an air of mystery.

With the contrast in temperatures between the water and the outside, when the sun rises the water smokes and produces that smoke, known as "arctic smoke".

Spring nights are cool and, when it is daylight, with a clear sky this helps to form this steaming water.

Fog is a meteorological phenomenon, which consists of the suspension of very small drops of water in the atmosphere or of humid hygroscopic particles, which reduce horizontal visibility.

If the meteorological phenomenon gives a vision of 1 km or less, it is considered as fog; and if it allows you to see more than 1 km, the phenomenon is fog.

The mists at a low height from the ground move like phantom sheets, as can be seen in the images with the perspective of Montseny.
