The viewpoint of the Morro de l'Abella does not deceive. The drought persists in the Sau reservoir despite the latest rains and, above all, we can verify this with these photographs in Comparative Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia of June 15, 2020 and May 1, 2023.

El Morro de l'Abella is a viewpoint with fantastic views of the Sau reservoir, which is located a few kilometers before reaching the town of Tavertet.

Below, from this privileged view from the viewpoint, we will see the reservoir and, in front, we will have the Puig de la Força and, to our right, the Salt de Tirabous.

The Sau reservoir, in the municipality of Vilanova de Sau, at the foot of the Guilleries massif, belongs to the Ter river basin. It is part of a system of three swamps (along with those of Susqueda and Pasteral) that unites the counties of Osona, in the province of Barcelona, and La Selva, in the province of Girona.

The reservoir, inaugurated in 1962, covered the town of Sant Romà de Sau, the remains of which, especially the bell tower of the temple, are visible when the level of the dammed water is low, as in these times of drought. In fact, even in times of prolonged drought like now, the old town is once again exposed and it is possible to visit it.
