Students of the training cycle of the Automotive degree of the Montsià institute have adapted a disused van to welcome and transport the dogs of the K9 canine unit of the Amposta local police. Within the framework of an InnovaFP project, promoted by the same center and the City Council, students have converted a police vehicle that was stored without any use despite having had little use.

The work of the students, mainly, has been to remodel the bodywork, install aluminum cages adapted for the animals and a refrigeration system to keep the animals in conditions inside the vehicle in summer.

"We have been able to align wills: a van stopped to be repaired, the K9 that had needs and the Montsià institute", pointed out the mayor of Amposta, Adam Tomàs, recalling that it was a vehicle that still had a useful life and that it tasted bad that it was wasted

In this line, the director of the center, Carles Añó, has stressed that the project fits within the "innovation ecosystem" of the institute in an "exemplary" way, integrating training elements from an entrepreneurial perspective and the participation of an institutional partner, such as It is the case of the City Council.

“The result has been so good that someone might think that modifying vehicles would be a professional opportunity”, pointed out Añó. He has especially highlighted the possibility of improving the training of students with "projects and utility for the community." “Working on a real project, the content of the module is much more motivating for them”, has certified the professor of the Montsià institute project, Joan Garriga.
