The mayoress of Cortegana (Huelva), the first to be invested in Andalusia by the pilgrimage

María del Mar Martín, from the PP, has become the first mayoress of Andalusia in this legislature, as the constituent plenary session was held at midnight this Saturday in her town, Cortegana, located in the heart of the Sierra from Huelva.

Cortegana has been the first Andalusian town to formalize its town hall, so that politicians and the rest of the residents can enjoy their pilgrimage over the weekend, which has been held since last night in honor of San Antonio, in the village of La Corte, located a few kilometers from the municipality.

Something identical happened in 2007 and in 2015. On those two occasions it was the first municipality in Spain to hold the constituent plenary session, although on this occasion the same thing has happened at least in San Cristóbal de Entreviñas, a town in Zamora, where the plenary session It has also been summoned at midnight, this time, for a trip by the elected mayor.

In this way, Cortegana has held at 00:00 this Saturday the Constitution Plenary of the City Council in which María del Mar Martín, candidate for mayor for the PP, has taken office as mayoress of the mountain town , as well as the rest of the councilors that make up the Municipal Corporation.

This plenary session has been attended by numerous residents of the town. In addition, the new mayoress has been supported by Alejandro Romero, deputy secretary of organization of the Andalusian PP and José Enrique Borrallo, the current general director of Protected Natural Areas of the Junta de Andalucía, who was mayor of Cortegana for two legislatures.

María del Mar Marín began her speech by highlighting that assuming the position of mayor is "the greatest privilege and the greatest responsibility that someone born in Cortegana can have" and highlighting "unconditional love for her people" as the main reason that led her to lead a project that aims to "make Cortegana a better place".

The mayoress has influenced "the enormous responsibility" with which she takes office as mayor and her desire "to respond to expectations by giving my best in this term."

Martín has explained that he conceives "the mayor's office as a privileged tool, probably the best, to be able to launch a solid and future project that improves the lives of all Corteganes" and has sent a message of unity to the entire corporation "to be allies, park the tension and focus on constructive dialogue".

In the last municipal elections, the PP obtained seven of the 11 councilors in contention for the Cortegana City Council, compared to the three obtained by the PSOE and the one obtained by Adelante.
