The man arrested for murdering his ex-partner in Getafe enters prison

The Court of Violence against Women of Getafe has today ordered the entry into provisional prison without bail of the man arrested for murdering his ex-partner last Saturday in Getafe, legal sources have reported.

D.M.I. He is accused of allegedly committing the crime of murder on his wife. The accused has only answered questions from his lawyer during the court appearance. He is waiting to be taken to the Valdemoro prison.

This morning the man was brought before the courts of Getafe. The arrested person had a history of gender violence and the victim had been in the Comprehensive System for the Protection of Victims of Gender Violence (VioGén) until April, when she expressly requested that the precautionary protection measures be withdrawn and, as a consequence, was left as "inactive within the system."

The murder occurred on Arcas del Agua avenue in Getafe, at number 15, corner with Cronos street, around 1:40 p.m. on Saturday. A man wearing a cap and covered with several layers of clothing, to simulate that he was thick, pounced on the victim and stabbed him several times in a pedestrian lane, immediately fleeing in a car towards the capital.

The woman was helped by several passers-by and then by Summa-112 paramedics, who tried to reverse the cardiorespiratory arrest that the victim was suffering with advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers. However, they did not work due to the severity of her injuries and Carolina ended up dying.

In the afternoon, his ex-partner showed up at the Getafe police station, where he presented the officers with an alibi, which seemed "plausible at that moment" to the police. For this reason, her statement was taken and she was provisionally released pending further investigations.

Police sources have explained to Europa Press that the arrested man, Daniel, 50, claimed that he was somewhere else and that they should check it using the GPS on his phone, which he had left on purpose in a place other than the scene of the crime. He also alleged that at the time of the events he had been with relatives, who did not prove this information to the Police.

Furthermore, the agents verified that this man had maintained a turbulent romantic relationship with the victim in Azuqueca de Henares (Guadalajara) and that she had reported him for mistreatment. In fact, they believe that he moved to live in sector III of Getafe and changed his phone number to escape from it, without communicating the new address to anyone.

However, the arrested man managed to locate her and showed up at this address early Saturday morning, knocking on the door and threatening Carolina, as confirmed by her roommates. But she didn't open the door.

Daniel would be on the street waiting for her to come out to attack her, as could be seen on the security cameras that the Police have inspected. For all these reasons, this man would be definitively arrested shortly after by agents from Group VI of Homicide of the National Police of Madrid.
