The Locarno Festival features Catalan productions

The Locarno Festival features Catalan productions

The 75th Locarno Arthouse Film Festival, which is being held from this Wednesday until August 13, features the participation of the Catalan productions Matadero by Santiago Fillol and Castells by Blanca Camell.

The two productions have the support of the Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises (Icec) through the internationalization brand of Catalan cinema Catalan Films, the Ministry of Culture has informed in a statement.

Matadero is a film set in the seventies about an American filmmaker who documents the popular uprising of farm workers in Argentina and will compete in the Concorso Cineasti del presente section.

Castells is a short film that tells the story of a woman who returns to Barcelona after separating where friends and traditional castells "will modify her dreams and desires", and will compete in the Pardi di domani: Concorso internazionale section.

This 2022 the festival hosts more than 200 films and short films, including 105 world premieres and three international ones.
