A fire has affected the Frederic Mompou institute in Sant Vicenç dels Horts, according to Baix Llobregat Town Hall. The fire, which started in the biology laboratory, affected several classrooms.
According to municipal sources explained to La Vanguardia, there were no injuries reported during the incident. It was a neighbor who alerted about the flames at 6:23 a.m. and the event was "quickly managed" by the Firefighters and the Local Police. The fire has been put out.
The City Council has regretted that "there is a significant impact on the electrical installation" of the institute. In fact, the municipal architects and the educational center's occupational risk delegate have begun to review the property in depth.
At the moment, the causes of the fire have not been established. The mayor of Sant Vicenç dels Horts, Miquel Comino, is following up on what happened and has offered his collaboration to the director of the Territorial Education Services of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
