The Kings say goodbye to Mallorca at the hands of 'Barbie'

In stories and in movies, princesses wear blue, but in real life princesses, as Leonor did this Thursday night, dress in pink, adding to the phenomenon of the movie 'Barbie' that is sweeping billboards and filling the closets. The King and Queen, accompanied by Princess Leonor, Infanta Sofía and Queen Sofía, chose the successful film that rewrites the story of the popular doll for what will be her last public appearance in Palma, before returning to Madrid, ending her vacation. .

About to return to Madrid, after two weeks in Mallorca, the royal family appeared again in public to attend the last session of the blockbuster directed by Greta Gerwig that they saw in the Ciutat cinemas located in the premises of the old Escorxador de Palma, now converted into a leisure center. The arrival of the royal family at the venue caused the logical surprise among the citizens who were enjoying the terraces who, two hours later, at the end of the projection, multiplied their presence to wait for them at the exit.

Princess Leonor stood out in the family group for her pink dress, from the Sfera brand, and for showing off, for the first time in public, her fingernails painted red; a nod that she will not be able to repeat in the coming months when she enters the Zaragoza Military Academy where cadets must meet strict appearance and clothing standards. As usual, Leonor wore Mint espadrilles

This Thursday's outing, in addition to confirming their love for cinema, certifies the presence of the King and Queen and their daughters in Mallorca after their last public appearance on Saturday, January 5 when, also in the company of Queen Sofía and Princess Irene de Greece, they went out to dinner at a restaurant in the fishermen's neighborhood of Portixol. The King arrived in Palma, where Queen Sofía had already been a week before, on July 26 and the Queen, together with her daughters, did so three days later. The Kings and their daughters appeared together in public for the first time on July 31 when they visited the Jardines de Alfábia, following a call to the media.

It is expected that the Kings and their daughters will leave Marivent in the next few hours, while Queen Sofía, as usual, will remain until the end of the month and it is not ruled out that she will receive a visit from her daughters, Elena and Cristina.

The Kings will return to Madrid, since Felipe VI plans to travel to Asunción (Paraguay) on the 14th to attend, the next day, the inauguration of the new president, Santiago Peña. Two days later, on August 17, Princess Leonor will enter the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, predictably accompanied by her parents, as is customary among cadets. As of that day, in addition, after the constitution of the Cortes that emerged from the elections of 23-J, the King must begin consultations with the different political parties to propose a candidate for president of the Government. The Infanta Sofía will travel to Wales on August 29 to begin her Baccalaureate studies at UWC Atlantic College.
