The investigating court number 2 of Girona has filed the cases against the 27 national police officers for the charges in six polling stations in the city during the 1-O referendum. The spokesperson for the volunteer lawyers who filed the joint complaint for the police actions in Girona, Sant Julià de Ramis and Aiguaviva, Albert Carreras, confirmed that last week they filed an appeal against the archival records because they consider that, although the Court limited the accusation to minor crimes of injuries, they did not prescribe. They also deny the defense that the court considers considering that the agents acted "in compliance with their duty."

According to the TSJC, Girona's investigating court 2 issued the six archiving resolutions more than a month ago. He did so at the request of the prosecution, after the Court ruled in an order that the police officers could only be accused of minor crimes of injuries and arguing that either the facts had expired or the defense provided for by the law could be applied. Penal Code for having acted "in fulfillment of a duty."

The spokesperson for the volunteer lawyers who filed the initial joint complaint for the charges to polling stations in Girona, Sant Julià de Ramis and Aiguaviva, Albert Carreras, has stated that last week they appealed the proceedings and that now the Court will have to decide whether to confirm the decision of the investigating court or responds to your request.

In June 2021, the court left 27 national police officers and a Civil Guard agent who intervened in the Girona and Aiguaviva charges one step away from trial, leaving their actions in Sant Julià de Ramis unpunished. In addition, he also decided to divide the performances into several parts. All of them are currently archived and awaiting the decision of the Girona Court.
