The controversy continues in the Guàrdia Urbana of Badalona. On this occasion with the reply of the Local Police Commanders Union (SICPOL) to the public statements of the City Councilor for Human Resources, Manel Sorribas. The union values positively the admission for processing of the complaint for the irregular action of the municipal manager. They deny their public statements and confirm the seriousness of the facts denounced.
On January 16, 2022, Badalona court number 4 admitted for processing the complaint filed by the union organization in which the officers of the Badalona Urban Guard informed it of various facts that may constitute different criminal offences; specifically a crime of infidelity in the custody of documents, a crime of omission of the duty to prosecute a crime and another crime of Social Security fraud.
SICPOL denounced that, despite the repeated requests made by the officers of the Badalona Urban Guard, no file or criminal case had been opened against different members of the force who had been subjected to an internal confidential investigation in which it was concluded that they had carried out acts presumably constituting serious, very serious misdemeanors or even crimes of which the judicial authority should be informed.
The union is surprised that it was not until two weeks after the announcement of the filing of the complaint, that the councilor Manel Sorribas has spoken publicly. In relation to his statements, the complainants affirm that it is not true that five disciplinary proceedings have been initiated, as the councilor declared.
They reiterate the existence of expiring files for very serious events, as well as others that may be criminal offenses that have not been brought to the attention of the judicial authority, as requested by the officers of the Urban Police; and also that this "unpublished and inexplicable" inaction on the part of those responsible for the Department of Human Resources of the Badalona City Council "which has been maintained until the opening of the criminal judicial process has been made public."
