The horse that was saved from extinction

The story of Przewalski's horse, the protagonist today in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, details how an extinct species was reborn again.

This equine subspecies was discovered in 1879 by the Polish-born Russian general Nikolai Przewalski (1839-1888), an explorer and amateur naturalist. In his honor this horse was named.

Przewalski's horses, whose last free representatives currently live in Mongolia and northwestern China, are a small-sized horse breed with a robust body and highly resistant to extreme weather conditions.

I took these photographs when, with the hiking group of which I am a part, we discovered by pure chance, in a large fence in the Vall de Llémena, these two beautiful specimens (we do not know if there were more) and we enjoyed their presence and their presence for a long time. their evolutions.
