The journalist, broadcaster and television presenter María Teresa Campos died this Tuesday at the age of 82 at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital in Madrid, where she was admitted due to acute respiratory failure, although her state of health had been worrying for months. .
Since her admission last Sunday, the journalist has been supported at all times by her family and friends. In that group, her daughters, Teresa Campos and Carmen Borrego, and her beloved granddaughter, Alejandra Rubio, who now mourn her loss, have not been missing.
After learning of her death, Rubio has published an emotional farewell letter on ABC, in which she makes clear the devotion she felt for her grandmother. "This letter is for you, to tell you once again how much I love you and how grateful I am to have shared so much time with you," he begins in his letter.
The young woman has thanked her for her attention since she was little, when they played "together with the dolls" or when they spent the summers together in Marbella and "she scolds her for eating spoonfuls of cola cao and a dry stick while we watched The Secret of Old Bridge".
Rubio says that her grandmother always had an affectionate nickname for her: "I have never asked you why you rarely called me by my name but I have to say that your nicknames made me very funny, the most repeated 'Alexis' but we continue with 'Alexia ', 'Alexita' and several derivatives that must be that you liked more".
From there, he only has words of gratitude: "Thank you for always being there, for being by my side while you watched me grow and thank you for teaching me much of what I know about life."
Rubio maintains that she has taught him to fight "to achieve his dreams" and "has encouraged him to study what he really likes even if it is not what is established." She also thanks him for the legacy she leaves behind and for keeping the family together.
