More Madrid has unveiled this summer its ambitious green reindustrialization plan to "revitalize" strategic sectors such as automotive, the agro-food sector, technology or logistics. A pica in Flanders in a sector in which its rivals "do not wait" with its leader, Mónica García, trusts to reverse the current negative trend with the "destruction" of the Gross Interior Product (GDP) in the industry that "has passed from 14% to 9%".
In a meeting at the Círculo de Bellas Artes, the candidate for the Presidency of the Community has also broken down the commitment of Más Madrid for the region to become "sovereign" from the point of view of the industry and that it would focus on a total of seven industrial poles (biomedical research, ecological logistics, sustainable agri-food, green automotive, housing, energy and technology), and which would have an estimated public investment of 4,200 million in four years for an impact of 10,600 million in return investments.
These industrial poles would be distributed throughout the Community of Madrid following the structure of its main communication routes with the objective that each area of the region specializes in an industrial sector while respecting the already existing productive fabric. All this to articulate innovation and economic growth through a "close collaboration between the public sector and the private sector".
In medical matters, Más Madrid would design public policies taking advantage of already existing spaces, such as the Isabel Zendal hospital, catalyzing "investment, innovation and collaboration of the agents involved".
With regard to the ecological industrial pole, it seeks to promote the adaptation of the logistics sector in the region, benefiting both companies and users from an ecological perspective, with which an authority would be created in this matter with the objective of "optimizing the operations of companies in the sector", as well as the "creation of infrastructures for the distribution of goods", based on the Corredor del Henares.
From the agri-food point of view, the objective would be to stimulate sustainable and quality agricultural production, in view of "protecting the territory and biodiversity" and "contributing to the fight against climate change", with the main actions taking place in Aranjuez.
In Getafe, the automotive pole would be implemented, which proposes the creation of an environment focused on the innovative automotive industry, "sustainable and connected" mobility, from the point of view of the vehicles themselves and, also, in other aspects such as the recycling of materials.
In the field of housing, developed in the city of Parla, Más Madrid wants to promote "the growth of the ecosystem" to face the "necessary change in the housing and construction model of the region."
In terms of energy, the objective of Más Madrid is to connect the industrial nodes of the territory and propose an environment for scientific, professional and labor development, which, at the same time, proposes the recycling of photovoltaic panels or sustainable methods of heating districts by biomass, with the nerve center in the industrial zone of Móstoles.
And in the technological pole, developed in Tres Cantos and the northwest Sierra, Más Madrid would promote an industrial space specialized in the design, manufacture and recycling of semiconductors, as well as the creation of the first quantum computing center in the Community of Madrid.
The focus of the industrial poles of Más Madrid responds to the approach of the entrepreneurial State, betting on an active role of the Madrid administration in development, for which the Banco Madrileño de Inversión would be created to channel the financing of the projects.
It would be a public investment bank inspired by the German Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) as "a fundamental tool to promote public and private investment in the Community of Madrid, channeling the necessary resources to finance innovative and sustainable projects.
