Carlos Mazón's PP, with the security provided by its 40 deputies and a broad victory in the regional elections, is not afraid of the possible consequences of its government agreement with Vox and will start its mandate the week before the 23-J elections. The logic of reaching an agreement as soon as possible and forming a stable government with the formation of the extreme right in the Valencian Community has been imposed and Mazón will be sworn in next Thursday the 13th and will promise or take the oath of office on Monday the 17th, once his appointment has been completed. been sanctioned by the King and published in the Official State Gazette.
From then on, Mazón will be able to discover the names of his new Council, where he has to accommodate three members of Vox. The first is already clear; It will be the former bullfighter Vicente Barrera who will be in charge of the Vice Presidency with powers over Culture. The other two portfolios, whose occupants are still unknown, will be the symbolic one for Agriculture and the most sensitive one for Justice, since the powers related to the fight against gender violence fall on it.
Despite this and the wear and tear that the content of the agreement with Vox entailed (it was the first to be agreed in all of Spain), the PPCV sees it as positive to face the final stretch of the general campaign with the promises of the legislature. Some commitments that the future president of the Generalitat will already be able to carry out in the investiture debate next Thursday where he has no time limit to project his roadmap. The oath of office as president of the Generalitat can also be used politically, as well as the appointment of its ministers, since they can help to glimpse (without time for criticism) the projects that are to be developed in the next four years.
The dates chosen by the PP have been endorsed by the main opposition party, the PSPV, which is confident that it can awaken its electorate to what they consider to be the threat of the popular government with the extreme right. By the way, in this attempt to confront two government models, it will be the outgoing president, Ximo Puig, who will confront the popular candidate.
In a statement, the PP explained that leaders of the two main parties have held various meetings to propose to the rest of the groups the calendar that has finally been approved and that will close the last week of July with the election of the 6 territorial senators (three for the PP, two for the PSPV -one of them Ximo Puig- and one for Compromís).
The agreement on the calendar has allowed the PP to take advantage of its ability to agree with each other based on their priorities. Although the government pact is with Vox, the popular ones yesterday admitted their pact with Compromís for the distribution of representatives in the Mesa de Les Corts and with the socialists to finish off the parliamentary calendar until the end of this month.
