The Getafe theme park, Navidalia Ciudad de Navidad, brings the festivities forward: it will have more than 90 attractions, a large Ferris wheel and an ice rink

The Getafe theme park, Navidalia Ciudad Navidad, is the first to open its doors this Christmas in the Community of Madrid. It will begin its debut this Saturday, November 18 and can be visited until January 7, 2024.

In this way, it advances the start of its great competitor, the Magical Christmas of Torrejón de Ardoz, a historic fair, which will open on November 30, with important new features in the current edition.

The schedule of the Getafe Christmas fair, which in three years will be called Christmas City (since there is already a fair called Navidalia in Mexico), will be until December 22 from Monday to Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. and the end of week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. From December 23 to January 7, hours will be extended from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

In its second edition, on an area of 25,000 square meters, which has been expanded compared to last year, the largest ice rink in Europe has been installed; a sledding mountain, which will be "an unforgettable experience for all audiences," according to the organizers; a giant Ferris wheel and nativity scene and Santa Claus's house, where the little ones can deliver their letters. And so on up to 90 attractions, such as bouncy castles, slides, merry-go-rounds...

Admission to the venue is free, but then each attraction has its price. Access to the ice rink will cost 7.51 euros per person; to the sleigh mountain, 5.37 euros; Superman's slingshot (suitable for ages 12 and up) will cost 12.88 euros; paintball (over 15 years), 12.68 euros and classic attractions will vary between 4.29 euros for children's passes and 5.37 euros for adults.

In addition, 1,000 tickets will be available at a two-for-one price for the ice rink for 40 minutes and another 1,000 at half price for the sledding track as well.

In addition, a giant 15-meter-high fir tree has been installed, which will illuminate the entire park. For many days there will be musical concerts, you can visit the Christmas market or tour the entire park on a magical train. In addition, a churrería has been installed so you can have chocolate with churros and regain your strength. And of course it has a hospitality area, which will offer different menus.

Last year, this fair was visited by about 400,000 people, especially people from the south of the region. Organizers hope to surpass that figure by bringing forward the opening date.

The Getafe City Council, next to the fairgrounds parking lot, plans to offer other nearby areas to make parking easier, but all management of the event is the responsibility of the private company AMFE.
