Terrassa has a movie church, or at least one designed by a filmmaker architect, Joan Baca i Pericot, born in this town in the Vallès Occidental in 1934 and awarded the City's Medal of Honor. It is the parish of the Mare de Déu del Carme.
Known as Jan Baca, he is an architect (son of an architect) by profession, but also a draftsman, writer (his work La casa a mida was awarded the Pere Quart d'humor i satira award in 1994) and film director, especially short films.

Work began on the church in August 1961, located behind the previous one and with the entrance to the chamfer of Abat Marcet avenue and Independència street. The sponsorship was provided by the Local Commission for Religious and Cultural Buildings.
The temple was consecrated on May 23, 1965, by the Bishop of Barcelona, Gregorio Modrego, with the presence of the authorities, led by Mayor Miquel Onàndia.
The bishop blessed the two bells, one bearing the number of Maria-Antoni-Mercedes, sponsored by the counts of Ègara, and the other, with the numbers of Cristina-Marta-Pilar, sponsored by Josep Sala and Amat.
