With this photographic report in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos I want to convey the wonderful fantasy that the Girona Cinema Museum transmits.

The origin of the Cinema Museum is to be found in the acquisition, on January 28, 1994, of the Tomàs Mallol Collection of cinematographic and pre-cinematic objects by the Girona City Council.

The museum was inaugurated on April 8, 1998 and was the first of its kind in Spain, "comparable in terms of the quality of the collection and the exhibition project with the main film museums in Europe," according to the center itself.

Its objective is "to become a center for the revitalization of the world of cinema and visual spectacles, based on a continuous programming of activities and services, aimed at a very broad potential audience, which guarantees its local, national and international recognition." .

Its mission is "to promote the understanding and knowledge of the history of the moving image and cinema through the conservation, research, interpretation and permanent exhibition of the Col·lecció Tomàs Mallol and other collections or objects that can be acquired , as well as through the organization of activities and the offering of services that allow interaction with visitors and users of the museum.
