The 53-year-old driver of a motorcycle died this Monday afternoon in an accident with a car in Plau-Savedera (Alt Empordà). The accident occurred shortly after 4:45 p.m. at kilometer 5.8 of the GI-610 highway, when a car and a motorcycle collided in an envestida for reasons that are still being investigated.
As a result of the accident, the motorcyclist, a French national, died and the passenger of the motorcycle was critically injured. The Emergency Medical System (SEM) transferred the wounded person to the Tureta de Girona hospital in critical condition. Four crews from the Mossos d'Esquadra, four from Firefighters, two SEM ambulances and a medicalized helicopter traveled to the scene of the events.
With this man there are already 81 people who have lost their lives on the road this 2023 in Catalonia.
