The Dcode 2023 cancels its edition due to the "obstacles" to replace Lewis Capaldi

The Dcode 2023 festival has announced its cancellation this afternoon after the suspension of the tour of its headliner, the British artist Lewis Capaldi: "the little time to maneuver and the closed schedules of the artists have been the great obstacles that have led us to make this painful decision".

This was announced today by the organization of the festival, whose start date was to be September 9 at the Complutense University of Madrid and whose lineup also included the groups Carolina Durante, Miss Caffeina or Mother Mother, among others.

"We are very sorry to write this message to you, but given the circumstances, we are not forced to cancel this edition of Dcode 2023. As you all know, our headliner Lewis Capaldi had to suspend his tour and, since that day, we have been working against the clock with the aim of offering you a line-up that lives up to your expectations".

However, they have qualified, "the little time for maneuver" and the closed schedules of the artists have been the "big obstacles" that have led them to make this "painful decision".

Over the next few days, the full refund will be made automatically to the card with which attendees purchased their tickets.

Likewise, the Dcode points out that they are already working to offer "the best poster" in the 2024 edition, a new edition that will be "different" and that "will boast many surprises."

"Once again we want to thank all of you for your support. And, of course, thank the Complutense University, artists, sponsors, the media and the team and companies that make the festival possible for their participation," the statement concluded.

Capaldi's absence is due to his need to take a break from touring "in the near future", arguing that he is "still learning to adjust to the impact" of his Tourette's syndrome.

The decision comes after the star ran into trouble during his Glastonbury Festival performance over the weekend, with fans in the crowd chanting for him as he stopped onstage during his hit song Someone You Loved.
