The crescent moon of Cabrils

The crescent moon is shown in the sky of Cabrils, in Maresme, in an image captured coming down from La Llobera for La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

These days the moon is in the crescent phase, that is, after the new moon, when it is a good time to contemplate the characteristics of the surface of our natural satellite.

During this phase, the moon is close to the sun in the sky and mostly dark, except for the right edge which becomes brighter as the days approach the next phase.

At this time the moon is 71% visible and will reach the full moon on the 28th, that is, next Saturday we will have the full moon shining in the sky.

In the image you can perfectly see how the moon is not seen with its entire surface illuminated, but rather it looks like it has been bitten.
