In Barcelona, 1 in every 4 boys and girls from 0 to 3 years old has been enrolled in one of the 4,765 municipal places, 300 more than in the previous year. In the pre-registration period, a total of 8,421 applications were received, 715 more than in the previous year. It has been possible to meet 55% of the demand.
The calendar of the four nursery schools opening their new building this year is slightly different from the calendar of the rest of the nursery schools.
Maintenance and improvement works during the summer
This summer, taking advantage of the break in classes, 41 improvement actions have been carried out in 34 municipal Bressol schools, with an investment of nearly 850,000 euros. The works have focused on thermal comfort, the maintenance of the patios, the installation of elements to provide shade and the renewal of pavements and awnings, among other measures.
Four schools with service with time diversification
The service with hourly diversification offered by the Caspolino schools in Gràcia is maintained; Germanetes, in L'Eixample; Xiroi, in Les Corts, and Petit Príncep, in Sant Martí. This allows the enrollment of boys and girls during reduced hours, only in the morning (from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.) or only in the afternoon (from 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.), or in full hours (from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.).
