The comfortable electric bike for everyday urban life and country getaways

There are many and varied alternatives that exist today in the field of electric bikes designed mainly for the city. While some users prefer compact-sized and foldable proposals, capable of being stored in any small space, other people prefer robust, more versatile vehicles that can withstand both the kilometers traveled and the passage of time better.

This last segment fits one of the latest innovations from the Ride1Up firm, named Prodigy V2. To begin with, it should be noted that this proposal has an aluminum frame that stands out above all for its resistance, although lightness is not one of its most relevant points. And the weight of this vehicle is 28 kg, a figure that is average for its category.

The person in charge of offering electrical assistance to this bicycle is a Brose motor that is located in the central area, which helps to better balance its weight while riding. It should be noted that this motor offers a maximum torque of 90 Nm, capable of providing great help, especially when facing significant slopes with the bicycle.

To power the motor, the Prodigy V2 integrates a 14 Ah battery in the lower tube of the frame that allows for a range with electrical assistance that can range from 50 to 80 km. This range will vary depending on various factors such as the weight of the cyclist, the type of terrain being ridden on, the inclination or the assistance mode chosen at all times.

Among the different versions of the Ride1Up novelty, the most interesting is the CVT (continuously variable automatic transmission) that integrates an automatic transmission from Enviolo and uses a carbon belt transmission from the manufacturer Gates. The set offers a behavior that, as stated by Ride1Up, stands out for being smooth and silent.

The Prodigy V2 is equipped with Maxxis Rekon Race tires designed to be able to combine urban use with the occasional getaway on dirt roads, where you will also appreciate the presence of MTB-type fork suspension. Looking at its equipment, there is no doubt that the manufacturer wanted to provide the user with options beyond simple urban streets.

The standard equipment of the electric bicycle includes, among other elements, front and rear lights, rear luggage rack and color screen. This equipment can be completed, for example, with other storage elements such as bags or even a front luggage rack.

Regarding the price of this vehicle, the CVT version is around 2,500 euros. To see the new Ride1Up Prodigy V2 in full action and appreciate what it is capable of, just take a look at the video that accompanies this article.
