The comedian Manu Sánchez confesses that he has cancer: "It is inevitable to get worse"

Manu Sánchez, a Sevillian comedian who rose to fame for his work on Canal Sur and La Sexta, made a harsh confession on Tuesday afternoon. The comedian was chatting with Juan y Medio on his program La tarde, aquí y ahora, when he revealed that he has testicular cancer.

"We have celebrated many things together, we have lived, we have laughed, and we will continue to do so for a long time," Sánchez assured the presenter, hinting that what he was going to tell later was of special relevance. "But now it's also time to stop a little bit; they're going to see that for a while I won't be able to look at Tierra de talento as I would like," he continued, referring to the talent show that he presents every Saturday on the same channel, Canal Sur.

The reason why the presenter and comedian should stay away from the cameras is of absolute weight, and he has told Juan y Medio that way. "It happens to a lot of people, and I think this is also good to tell and normalize: On April 19 I was diagnosed with cancer," he revealed.

Manu Sánchez has subsequently recounted how this detection occurred and the way in which he himself reacted to the bad news. "After putting ourselves at the worst for a while, while they tell you what the last name is, where, how, in what way it comes... Well, one gets at the worst; this is inevitable"

Sánchez used a metaphor to try to explain his feelings after learning that he had cancer. "When you take a Madrid-New York flight, when you go through the middle of the water, no matter how much you are not afraid of flying, you say: 'what if the engine stops now? what if it fails now? what if I see I smoke from the wing?'", he said, confessing that "it is inevitable to be afraid" given the uncertainty of the situation. Of course, he wanted to be optimistic: "I have things much stronger than fear and they are eating it with potatoes," he concluded.

Due to the harshness of his announcement, social networks have been filled with support for Manu Sánchez. "A lot of encouragement and a lot of strength for you and your family. This will not be able to with you. A very strong hug," wrote a user in response to the video broadcast by Canal Sur. Many others agreed to send their best wishes to the comedian to get cured of his cancer.
