The Busa mountain range is left without its watering hole

This source located in the Plan de Busa is the Font de Sant Cristòfol, but it is also known as the Font de Busa or the Font de l'Esperdaguer.

It is part of the Serra de Busa route. This natural area is located in the upper Cardener basin. It represents very well the diversity of the natural systems and landscapes of the southern eastern Pre-Pyrenees.

As we can see in these photographs shared by Josep M. Coll in La Vanguardia Readers' Photos, the Font de l'Esperdaguer is a good place to stop to drink water and continue with the excursion.

The problem is that, today, this source is completely dry as a result of the great drought that we are experiencing in Catalonia.

The Busa mountain range forms a wide plateau called the Pla de Busa, which is cut on all sides by high cliffs, and reaches from the Ora Valley to the Cardener Valley.

This place was historically used as a military training camp during the French War. At that time, the weakest points in the area were fortified and a thousand small wooden houses were built to house the resisters. In fact, four of the farmhouses still stand.

Busa was, after Cádiz, the first place in Spain to proclaim the Constitution of 1812, in an event attended by some 8,000 soldiers.
