The best threat for Sant Pere de Casserres

Gray and stormy day in Casserres, with the threat of rain, the best threat that could occur in this place so lacking in water due to the prolonged drought. In fact, as seen in these images in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos, the meander of the Ter is very dry.

Water reserves in Catalonia are at 22%. The Sau reservoir, specifically, is at 19% and, a year ago, it was not excessively better at this time either, at 27%, when the average in recent years was 99%.

The meander is a curve described by the course of a river, whose sinuosity is pronounced, as can be seen in the images, although in this case the water is conspicuous by its absence.

Sant Pere de Casserres, 11th century monastery of the Benedictine order, is located in the Masies de Roda (Osona), in the meander of the Ter river bathed by the waters of the Sau reservoir.

The Sau swamp is surrounded by chasms. The place is spectacular, with many elevated observation points, such as the viewpoint from where these images were captured.
