The world of football gathered in London, at the Apollo Hammersmith, for The Best awards gala organized by FIFA. The master of ceremonies was the 1998 world champion with France Thierry Henry. It was Aitana Bonmatí's big night.
In the green folder, in addition to the finalists who competed for the awards, some of the best footballers of the 21st century also paraded, such as Cafú, Ballack, Desailly or Patrick Kluivert.
FIFA created its award in 1991 and in 2001 the women's category was inaugurated. Between 2010 and 2015, the award was unified with the Ballon d'Or of France Football. And in 2016 they separated again with the birth of The Best.
If for Aitana Bonmatí it was her first FIFA award, Leo Messi won her third, beating Haaland and Mbappé. The Argentine footballer, who led Inter Miami to win its first title with the Cup in 2023, was not at the gala to collect the award.
