B-Travel, the trade show dedicated to tourism organized by Fira de Barcelona, kicks off today at the Montjuïc fairgrounds with 129 exhibitors. The figure represents an increase of 21% compared to its last edition. The organization's aspiration is to reach 30,000 visitors this time and exceed last year's figure.
“It is a must for anyone who wants to start their trip, whether with a getaway, for the Easter holidays, or to plan the summer,” said the director of the event, Marta Serra, during the presentation. In fact, the motto of the fair, which will last until Sunday, is “Where your journey begins.” Offers and discounts will be applied to visitors. In addition, the Generalitat will present a line of financial aid that it will offer to tourist establishments.
“In this edition, the transformation of the sector towards digitalization and sustainability and its commitment to higher quality and increasingly seasonally adjusted tourism will be especially verified,” said its president, Martí Sarrate. For the first time, there will be the presence of Red.es, an entity attached to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, which develops digitalization.
In addition to having the representation of the great national tourism assets, B-Travel will include destinations such as Brazil, Cuba, Croatia, the USA, the Dominican Republic and Tanzania, among others. On the other hand, the representation of cruise operators is recovered, with the participation of several companies in the sector.
The fair will also have a program of activities focused on professionals in the sector and its gastronomic proposal, the B-Delicious Fest, produced by the Baix Llobregat Gastronomy and Tourism Association (AGT). For example, today at 3 p.m. there will be a demonstration of Castelldefels rice by the Castelldefels and Baix Llobregat Hospitality Guild.
