The first suspect in the murder this Saturday of Carolina, a 39-year-old woman of Colombian nationality who received several stab wounds in the middle of the street in the Madrid municipality of Getafe, has been released after voluntarily appearing at the police station.

As confirmed by the Police Headquarters, the man, the victim's ex-partner, has been released after proving that he was in a different place than the attack at the time of the attack.

Carolina died violently stabbed this Saturday. According to her, it has emerged that the victim tried to protect herself from her attacker since she had some defensive wounds on her arms. The alleged attacker fled in a car without being able to be arrested.

The news of the arrest was given this Sunday by the mayor of the municipality, Sara Hernández, through her social networks. "I have just been informed that the National Police Corps has arrested the suspect of yesterday's sexist murder in the middle of the street in Getafe. I hope that the full weight of justice will clarify this terrible event and take the forceful and necessary measures," the councilor shared . The investigation has therefore been reactivated in search of the murderer.

Gender violence is among the main lines that the Police handle in the case, as investigation sources who continue working to clarify the events that happened in a residential area of ​​single-family homes have told Europa Press.

The attack occurred on Avenida Arcas del Agua in the city, less than 400 meters from the Municipal Police station, around 1:40 p.m. After receiving the notice from a neighbor in the area, members of the National Police, Getafe Local Police, as well as Summa 112 paramedics went to the scene.

Once there, the doctors tried to reverse the cardiorespiratory arrest suffered by the victim with advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, although these did not work and the Summa 112 staff ended up confirming the death of the victim.
