Spring white and yellow prevails

At this point in spring, white and yellow prevail. The snow of the high mountain peaks of the Pyrenees crowns a landscape that, in the valley, is dominated by rapeseed fields, as we see in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

The snapshots have been captured from the Collet de les Barraques with a lot of snow in Puigmal and with cold and mountain blizzards. At the foot of the mountains, in the Vall d'en Bas, however, the intense yellow of the rapeseed prevails.

The route to the Collet de les Barraques leaves from the town of Planoles, located on the road that goes from Ribes de Freser to the Collada de Tosses.

Once we arrive at our destination we can enjoy spectacular views of the Serra de Montgrony and the white peaks.

El Puigmal, in Alta Cerdanya, is the second highest mountain in the demarcation of Girona, with 2914 meters, and is located on the border between Spain and France.

For its part, rapeseed is a crop that is used to produce fodder and biodiesel, which can be profitable. In Catalonia, it is the Osona region where there are the most extensions, although it is also present in Garrotxa and other areas.
