Sirera chooses Juan Milián as number two

Cleared doubt. The PP has been the last party to choose number two on its list for the municipal elections in Barcelona, but finally this Monday it has announced that it will be Juan Milián who will accompany Daniel Sirera, the candidate for mayor of the capital, as an electoral ticket catalan

Juan Milián (Morella, 1981) has a degree in Political Science and Administration (UPF) and was a deputy in Parliament for three legislatures (2011-2017). Nephew of the historic founder of the Popular Party Manuel Milián Mestre, he is also the author of several essays on politics, such as The Spanish process and the recent Liberaos! (both published by Deusto). Currently, he is the general coordinator of the PP in Catalonia.

As number three, Sirera has chosen Ángeles Esteller, whose name was raised to lead the PP candidacy in Barcelona and who has a long career as a councilor in the City Council (2003-2018). She graduated in Law from the University of Barcelona, she was also a deputy in Parliament (1999-2003). Currently, she is director of the public affairs area in a law firm in Barcelona.

Among the other members of Sirera's list, in which the current councilor Óscar Ramírez, number two of Josep Bou in the 2019 municipal elections, does not repeat, Víctor Martí (number 4), Sonia Devesa (number 5), Antonio Verdera (number 6), Xavier Cañigueral (number 7), Tomás Ragué (number 8), Gema Gesa (number 9) and Inma Delgado (number 10).

To the question of who would be his number two, formulated by Joaquín Luna in the recent interview with the popular candidate for mayor that was held in the Círculo Ecuestre, last Thursday, Sirera replied that any of the 41 that would appear could occupy that position and that he was putting together a "balanced" bid, in which there would be at least two women in the top five.

"For many candidates, two is important because most of them will not finish their term and I doubt they will run again. I am looking at who has two, because surely it will be with them that I have to do in four years," replied Sirera. , in reference to Ernest Maragall (ERC) and Xavier Trias (Junts), to the journalist from La Vanguardia.
