One of Robert de Niro's grandsons, Leandro, 19, the son of fellow actress Drena de Niro, has died. It was his mother who communicated the sad loss through her social networks.
In a heartbreaking post Sunday night, the 55-year-old actress wrote a heartfelt tribute to her son: "My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my womb. .You have been my joy, my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life.I wish I was with you right now.I wish I was with you.I don't know how to live without you but I will try to carry on and spread the love and light how much you made me feel being your mom. You were so deeply loved and cherished and I wish that only love could have saved you. I'm so sorry, my baby. Rest in Peace and Eternal Paradise my dear child."
Drena is the eldest of the seven children of the 79-year-old Godfather star, who adopted her after marrying his first wife, actress Diahnne Abbott. In her emotional message, she Drena does not give more details about the death of her son, so it is unknown what she died of.
Leandro is the result of Drena's relationship with the artist Carlos Mare, who has not publicly pronounced on death. Family and friends of Drena sent her messages of condolences and support in these hard times.
Leandro de Niro Rodríguez was an actor and participated alongside his mother in the film A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in 2018; he also in the films Cabaret Maxime and The Collection.
