The Secondary Teachers union (aspepc-sps) criticizes the "forced" resignation of the director of the Sallent institute and rejects the way in which the Department of Education is managing the case. This is a measure derived from the situation that the educational community is experiencing after the suicide of a student at the school.
The general secretary of the union, Xavier Massó, has called for a change in the regulations since, with the current law, in cases of bullying between students, both teachers and directors "can do practically nothing". Massó has lamented that the few protocols that are opened end up displacing the besieged person from the institute, "while the stalker remains there triumphant." "It is inadmissible", he has resolved himself. The union calls for a change in regulations that empowers directors to be able to act and expel when necessary.
In a statement, the union also attacks the Minister of Education, as the head of the department, and accuses him of "evading" his own responsibilities. "He is the one who must be held accountable for ineffective regulations. And if he does not like to face the responsibilities, let him go at once," the text sentences.
