Seat includes the LGTBI collective in its protocol to avoid risks of harassment

Seat and the unions have today signed a new equality plan to guarantee parity, diversity and inclusion as basic values in the company's daily activity. The plan includes 60 measures, including those aimed at ensuring work spaces free of sexual harassment, reducing the factors that can lead to segregation in selection and promotion processes, improving care for women victims of sexist violence and incorporating new measures to reconcile work and personal life.

"Thanks to the new measures related to the reconciliation of work and personal life, the selection and promotion processes, equal pay and the prevention and action against sexist violence and sexual or gender-based harassment, we guarantee our development as a sustainable, inclusive, diverse and robust organization that is prepared to lead the industry and continue to be a benchmark”, explained Laura Carnicero, Executive Vice President of People and Organization at Seat. "I want to thank the effort, the willingness to dialogue and the contribution of all the people who have contributed to making this plan a consensus initiative and a reality", she added.

It is planned to provide training on equality for the members of the joint committees included in the current Seat agreement and their effective inclusion in the internal training processes for managers and people in leadership positions. The strategy of the School of Apprentices will also be reviewed to attract more female talent. The plan also includes the update of the sexist violence protocol, and the review of the procedure against sexual and gender-based harassment, also expanding it to other diversities such as the LGTBI collective and other types of harassment not included so far, as reported the company

In the field of reconciliation, the leave of absence for the care of family members will be extended from 2 to 3 years, one year more than what is established by law, and a pilot project will be launched for the grouping of the annual working day, specifically during the summer period.

In 2012 Seat was a pioneer by signing its first equality plan. Currently, 3,000 women work in the company, which is equivalent to 20% of the workforce, while 26% of management positions are held by women, which is one of the highest percentages in the automotive industry.
