This week the Sant Joan Despí City Council opened the new Despí Gifts Centre. It is a facility that "hosts the services of the information and care service for women, until now located in the area of personal services, and brings together in the same space all the programs and resources of the Department of Equality and LGBT Policies of the Consistory", the municipal administration explained this Wednesday through a statement.
The new space is located on the ground floor of the Les Planes civic center, which has been renovated by local architect Maite Ruf. It consists of a "reception and waiting space, an immediate attention room, three individualized attention rooms and a multipurpose room," the City Council reported. It will be open from Monday to Friday.
According to the City Council, the new center has "more capacity to respond to the needs of women by offering a psychology, legal and childhood and youth psychology service." In addition to the attention of a "multidisciplinary" team of experts in "gender and sexist violence", the facility also organizes personal growth and self-esteem workshops.
