Renfe increases the offer of trains on the coast line between Barcelona and Calella

Starting this weekend, Renfe increases the service of the R1 line on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays with 9,228 seats each of those days, to meet the increase in demand in the summer months.

Line R1 of the Cercanías de Catalunya (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat - Maçanet-Massanes through Mataró) line, which connects with Calella, Sant Pol de Mar and Canet de Mar, increases its offer with four trains in each direction, improving connections with the rest of Maresme stations and, at the same time, with the city of Barcelona.

Thus, on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, between 10:00 and 12:00 there will be trains every 10 minutes from the Barcelona-Pl station. Catalonia towards Mataró. And in the afternoon, between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., trains will leave every 10 minutes from Mataró station to Barcelona-Plaça Catalunya, instead of the current 15 minutes.

Renfe will maintain this offer on the R1 line until Sunday, October 1, as it has done with other high-demand lines in the summer period. A few days ago, it announced the increase in the offer at the Playa de Castelldefels station (line R2) with 17 additional trains during weekends and holidays in June, July, August and September.
