This afternoon Queen Sofía visited the headquarters of the Banc dels Aliments de Reus (Baix Camp) to learn more about the reality of its solidarity activity. As executive president of the Reina Sofía Foundation, she wanted to take an interest in the situation of the entity, which is looking for a new headquarters, according to the Diari de Tarragona. The monarch has met with officials from the Banc dels Aliments and has already been received upon arrival by the local authorities, with the mayor of Reus, Sandra Guaita (PSC), and the subdelegate of the central government in Tarragona, Santiago Castellà, at the head.
The headquarters of the Fundació Banc dels Aliments de les Comarques de Tarragona is currently located in Calle Escultor Rocamora, in the Carrilet neighborhood. Queen Sofia has also exchanged impressions with several of the entity's volunteers, a key part of the solidarity work.
The Banc dels Aliments helps nearly 40,000 people in Camp de Tarragona. Queen Sofía has also met with representatives of the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL).
