Queen Letizia visits the national team before the World Cup

The Spanish team spends its last days in Spanish territory before leaving for Australia and New Zealand. Between training sessions, attention to the media and publicity commitments, the footballers received a very special visit today. Queen Letizia has visited the concentration in Las Rozas, has witnessed the training session this Tuesday and later has addressed a brief message to the soccer players.

“Best of luck and rest assured that you take to those distant lands the love of an entire country that is truly by your side. So thank you very much and good luck", said the monarch, who highlighted the "soccer without labels" and the "expectation and illusion" that this team generates. A message that she has addressed to the entire team, players and coaching staff, at the end of training this Tuesday.

“The expectation that you generate and the illusion that I hope you feel from so many people who encourage you, support you and love you. And also people who are very sure in this country that you are going to do everything possible to take the shirt of the national team and Spain very far, that you are going to enjoy it and that you are going to do what you know how to do so well, which is play football, football without labels", he declared.

Queen Letizia was received at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas by the president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), Víctor Francos, and by the president of the Spanish Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, who presented her with a signed shirt for all the players, a ball and a captain's armband. Subsequently, Her Majesty the Queen witnessed the training accompanied by Jorge Vilda's assistant, Montse Tomé and presided over the family photograph that was taken with all the players and the coaching staff.

This same Tuesday the expedition heads to Asturias, where on Thursday (9 pm) they will face Panama in the first of the two friendlies that are scheduled before traveling to Australia and New Zealand. After briefly returning to Madrid, the team will head to Denmark to play their second preparation game in Copenhagen on July 5.
