Puente "supposes" that the Sánchez-Puigdemont meeting will be "after the amnesty"

The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, said this Monday that he "supposes" that the possible meeting between the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the former President of the Generalitat Carles Puigdemont will take place "after the amnesty" and " normalization", although he has stressed that this is his "deduction".

Regarding the criticism of the judges by Junts leaders, he has acknowledged "not identifying" with them: "It seems wrong to me that the judges are attacked; you can be critical of some actions without resorting to that," he added.

Within the framework of the amnesty law and its political cost, Puente has considered that the independence movement realized that in this way "they were not going anywhere", and has believed it was a good option to "turn the page in every sense."

"Some have been in jail and others have been outside Catalonia for six years. It has had its costs for everyone (the 'procés')," summarized the minister, who considered it a better option to talk about "living together" and "unity." and not of "trials and sentences."

During his speech, Puente considered that EH Bildu has "the right to political life as anyone else" and described as "undemocratic" this Sunday's demonstration led by UPN, PP and Vox against the motion of censure in the Pamplona City Council that will give the city mayorship to EH Bildu.

The former mayor of Valladolid has stressed that EH Bildu has complied with "all the rules", although he has separated this agreement in Pamplona from what may happen in the Basque Country: "The party is quite determined in its alliances in Euskadi and I think that the will maintain."

"Fifteen years after the end of ETA it seems that now we do not allow or do not want to allow them to intervene in political life or govern. It does not make sense," said Puente, who has asked the PP to "reconsider" where it is heading. in certain areas.

In this sense, he has indicated that with the protest this Sunday in Pamplona it is as if he had demonstrated in Valladolid when the PP agreed with Vox to govern despite him leading the most voted list: "It is not a democratic attitude that we would say. ".

Likewise, the minister added: "It is one thing to respect the memory of the victims of terrorism, such as dedicating an avenue in Valladolid to Miguel Ángel Blanco, and another is the debate on the political participation of people who have renounced and abandoned any hint of "violence to do politics". "To fail to remember Miguel Ángel Blanco is to finance oneself illegally using his foundation," Puente reflected.
