Prosecutor accuses Trump of making up the day of his arrest

According to Manhattan Chief Prosecutor Alvin Bragg's office, former President Donald Trump "created false expectations that he would be arrested the next day."

These types of investigations are generally secret, although experts believe that there are indications to understand that an indictment is being prepared against the former president for the alleged payment of $130,000 to a porn actress to keep her quiet.

Trump spread without any basis that he would be arrested last Tuesday. Various lawyers argued that there is no delay because Bragg never communicated his schedule. They agreed that a matter like this, which would mean criminal charges for the first time against a former president of the United States, requires having everything well tied up.

But Trumpism has another conspiracy to believe in its leader's letter of marque.

He hasn't been arrested yet. The fact that the grand jury meeting was canceled on Wednesday and that everything indicated that this Thursday would not deal with the possible accusation or not, meant that the resolution was parked until next week.

This circumstance caused the followers of the former president to spread that the delay is due to the fact that Trump, who did not agree to go to testify, has managed to dismantle the case with the collaboration of lawyer Robert Costello. This lawyer came to testify last Monday, at the request of the defense, seeking to disprove his colleague Michael Cohen, the author of the payment to Stormy Daniels with money that was later reimbursed by the then tenant of the White House.

The prosecution does not give explanations of its operation or how it approaches its work. Various media considered that next Monday they would receive another testimony on the case and it was not ruled out that it was Cohen to reply to Costello, who at the time was his legal advisor.

Democrat Bragg made it clear that there is no delay and attributed the uproar to baseless meddling by Trump.

This was expressed in a letter addressed to the Republican legislators of the Lower House who are demanding an investigation into their actions against the former president, described as an "unprecedented abuse of power." The Manhattan prosecutor denied in his letter the request to provide testimony and documents.

In his response, Bragg considered this initiative as an interference in his work. “This is a petition in a pending local prosecution,” he noted. He insisted that the conservative representatives lack a "legitimate basis" for this operation that they launch without knowing the ins and outs of the matter.

He even describes it in his five pages of "illegal incursion into the sovereignty of New York."

He also reminded legislators of a key point. "If the grand jury votes on the charges against Donald Trump, the prosecution will have an obligation, as always, to provide a significant amount of the investigation to the defendant so that he can prepare his defense."
