Princess Mary shows Letizia what the children's hospital that bears her name will be like

Today, Queen Letizia learned from Princess Mery about the innovative public children's hospital that aims to revolutionize the hospital use experience of children, adolescents, pregnant women and their families before, during and after treatment, as well as eliminate the feeling that life stops during the hospital stay. The center dependent on the Danish public health system, which will be fully completed in three years, wants to offer comprehensive treatment so that sick children continue to be in daily contact with their family, friends and studies.

The hospital is named after Crown Princess Mary of Denmark who has been directly involved in its implementation. In front of a model of what the complex will be when it is completely finished, the princess explained to the Queen that the hospital is designed and developed in close collaboration with patients, families and staff.

The new center will provide an environment that will allow families to stay together, in an environment that is as normal and comfortable as possible. Sick children will be able to go to school and see their friends and they will also be able to be with their families, in modules with kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms to enjoy family meals, go out to get some fresh air or simply sit on a sofa and watch television together.

The building will occupy 60,000 m2 and is an integral part of Rigshospitalet, Denmark's national hospital, located in Copenhagen, which currently offers highly specialized treatment to patients from Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. On their tour, the Queen and the princess visited a module already in operation, decorated as a children's classroom, where they met boarding children and their families.

Upon arrival at the hospital, whose first stone will be laid in 2022, the Queen and Princess Mary have been received by a boy and a girl who, at the time, received treatment in the already inaugurated wings of the center, which have been given to them two drawings made precisely while they were admitted

Queen Letizia chose to wear on the second day a coat similar to the one she wore on the first day but in a camel tone and from the Carolina Herrera brand, under which she wore a green dress from the Lleida brand Dándara. Mary accompanied him in the styling with an off-white coat from Joseph Kido, a black blouse from Red Valentino and a midi skirt from Dolce.

Before heading to the hospital, located on the outskirts of Copenhagen, the Queen and the princess, together with the King and Prince Frederick, went to the citadel to pay tribute to the Danes who died in international missions and, later, together with Queen Margaret They visited the town hall of the Danish capital where the mayor, Sophie Haestorp, welcomed them and also invited them to a breakfast that included the famous Danish cookies and pancakes with maple syrup.
