Premiere of 'Barbie' in Madrid: the best looks and those who should have thought better of it

With pink as the flag and fun as the goal, Barbie hits theaters this Thursday, the long-awaited film with Margot Robbie giving life to the famous doll, accompanied by her inseparable Ken, who is played by Ryan Gosling. A story directed by Greta Gerwig, who plays with all the stereotypes that surround the doll; but with a twist of humor, irony and social criticism.

Thus, pink in all possible tones flooded the premises and the vicinity of the CaixaBank theater in Príncipe Pío, where the preview of the film was held in Madrid. A place where many familiar faces came, all of them trying to emulate the famous dolls. Celebrities such as Carmen Lomana, the designers Maya Hansen and Eduardo Navarrete, the actress Marta Hazas or the influencer Samantha Hudson; that yes, with more or less success, because someone more than to see Barbie perhaps thought that he was going to see a horror movie.

There were many candidates for the assistant who best emulated the style of the famous doll, but without a doubt the recreation of the model Marta López Álamo was a success. Kiko Matamoros's wife opted for a two-piece in pastel pink and vichy checks that fit her like a glove, accompanied by accessories that only Barbie could think of. She had a blonde wig and she could perfectly pass for the mythical doll.

The singer Lorena Gómez decided to give a more glamorous and festive touch to her outfit, also opting for a two-piece, only in her case in a fuchsia pink that undoubtedly captured all eyes. The Catalan wore a halter neck top and a pareo-type skirt that she combined with white court shoes similar to the thousands that the doll has already worn in its more than 60 years of existence.

They say that whoever does not risk, does not win, and Jedet took it literally, who became an almost facsimile replica of the doll, albeit in a latex dress. The actress was spectacular, and her styling became one of the most applauded of the evening.

Pablo Castellano already has the potential to be a potential candidate for Best Ken, but seeing him appear at the film's premiere with his wife, María Pombo -who also wore impeccable styling- confirmed that he was the one who best captured the essence of the doll on Wednesday afternoon.

The singer Alfred García not only read and complied with the requirement for the dress-code of the event, but he also knew how to apply his own style. Thus, the Catalan appeared with a pink shirt, similar to Castellano's, but with pants that gave his outfit a certain funky touch. A great success for an event in which, wherever you looked, everything was the same color.

The influencer and film commentator Álex Sorkin takes the cake with this Ken outfit that is undoubtedly one of our favorites. The podcaster dares to emulate the doll, but not in any version, but in the one devised by the creators of Toy Story 3, who knew how to bring to light the most Machiavellian side of Barbie's boyfriend.

The importance of accessories lies in the fact that they can totally change a style. For example, the same dress can be considered to go to the premiere of a movie or another, according to the accessories that accompany it.

Cristina Cifuentes was going to the Barbie preview from the neck down, but when she decided to wear those heart-shaped sunglasses, she managed to destroy any intention she had with her look, which automatically became perfect for going to a horror movie.

One who should not have read the event note well was María Forqué. Despite the rigorous compliance of the attendees with the requirement to wear pink, the daughter of beloved Verónica Forqué appeared dressed completely in black, very much in her style, transgressive of hers and with little left to the imagination.

Esty Quesada from Biscay, better known on social media as I am a loser, did not want to miss the event, although her outfit, as usual, was one of the most talked about with her face painted pink, a cowboy hat and a huge backpack in the shape of a stuffed toy. The risk has a price, but what they will say does not worry the young influencer either.

On the carpet, some more bizarre versions of the Barbie outfit also drew attention, such as the "drag" transformations of the doll by drag queens such as Vania Vanilla or the proposal of the Tiktok makeup artist Nuria Adraos, who has drawn the iconic toy on her chest.

Carmen Lomana, with a pink dress in the style of the classic Barbie, or other more groundbreaking bets such as those of Samantha Hudson, who chose an outfit made up of white lace underwear, matching gloves and a pink tutu, has shown her interest in "how the figure and the icon of Barbie are going to be analyzed through current feminist codes", since she believes "there is a lot of misogyny and people lash out at those women who decide to be an overwhelming explosive bombshell and follow the canons".

Pink ice cream and lemonade stands, a cocktail bar or a nail and make-up stand have been some of the attractions that, at the entrance to the theater, surprised the guests. A huge display of fantasy and color for one of the most anticipated titles of the year
