Police investigate a shooting of a 43-year-old man in Puente de Vallecas when he returned from work

The Homicide Group of the National Police is investigating a shooting that took place last night against a 42-year-old man in the Palomeras neighborhood of Puente de Vallecas, police sources have informed Europa Press. Everything indicates that it could be a settling of accounts as it is a neighborhood with a lot of conflict.

The event occurred around ten at night when several residents of number 19 Río Uruguay Street alerted the Police of three shots fired in the area. The shots occurred a few meters from the street where the aunt of the criminal 'Gordo Maya' was murdered last January.

The agents found a man wounded in the left leg at the scene, who was transferred by SAMUR-Civil Protection paramedics to the Gregorio Marañón Hospital in Madrid with a reserved prognosis.

Apparently, the injured man was shot just as he had just arrived from work. The Homicide Group and Scientific Police have opened an investigation to clarify what happened. He had just parked his Seur van near the house when he was shot.

It so happens that the shooting occurred a few meters from the place where a 43-year-old woman, aunt of 'Gordo Maya', was shot dead last January.

The events occurred around 10 p.m. on Lago Maracaigo street number 11, in the Vallecano neighborhood of Palomeras. The victim, who was traveling alone driving a large van, was surprised near a zebra crossing by an SUV from which a person wearing a cap got out.
