Podemos will stand for the general elections on 23-J under the Sumar coalition, led by Yolanda Díaz, after speeding up the negotiation deadlines until this afternoon. The document to present the electoral coalition is currently being presented in the register.
Among the formations that sign the agreement is Drago Canarias, the Aragonese Chunta, Alianza Verde, En Comú Podem, IU, PCE, Ara Més, Más Madrid, Más País, Podemos, Compromís, Iniciativa del Pueblo Andaluz, Verdes Equo and Batzarre.
The configuration of the lists is still pending closure but it has already transpired that Ione Belarra will occupy the number five position in the candidacy for Madrid. He will be preceded by the spokesman for Más País in the Congress of Deputies, Íñigo Errejón, who will be number 4 on the candidacy. Mas Madrid will occupy positions 3, 4, 7 and 10.
Another piece of information that has come out is that the organization secretary of Podemos Lilith will compete as number four on the Barcelona list.
In fact, the agreement reserves for Podemos this fourth position in Barcelona, the fifth in Madrid and leading the candidacies in Alaba, Badajoz, Cáceres, Granada, Guadalajara, Gipúzkoa, Las Palmas, Murcia, Navarra, Palencia, Segovia, and Teruel.
Thus, among the names that have come out is that of Roberto Uriarte who will head the list of Álaba, Martina Velarde in Granada; Pilar Garrido in Gipuzkoa; Noemí Santana in Las Palmas; in Murcia, Javier Sánchez Serna and in Navarra, Idoia Villanueva
Who will be left off the lists, at least in eligible places, will be the current Minister of Equality, Irene Montero. Her presence in the candidacies of the platform led by Yolanda Díaz has been one of the causes of the long confrontation between Podemos and the rest of the forces that make up Sumar. Finally, Podemos has renounced that Montero has a relevant role in making the confluence possible.
For its part, Izquierda Unida will have first place in the future coalition with Sumar for the constituencies of Malaga and Córdoba as well as second place for Seville.
It will also be assigned first place for Tarragona, sharing a quota with the commons, as also happened in the last two legislatures, and third place for the Valencia constituency.
In this last community, a Compromís candidate will head the list of Valencia and the number two in the three constituencies of the Valencian Community. The coalition will have the name of 'Compromís-Sumar.
For their part, the Catalan Commons have celebrated the agreement this afternoon through a message in which they assured that they were "happy to build together with Sumar and Yolanda Díaz. The challenge of this 23J is enormous and we will put all our strength to continue advancing in rights and building the country we want. This 23J: Yolanda President", said CatComú in a tweet collected by Europa Press.
The coalition will compete in the Catalan districts with the brand "Sumar-En Comú Podem", in which Podemos will be responsible for designating numbers four and eight on the list for Barcelona,
