The twist in the script imposed by La Vall Ens Uneix and its decision not to support a progressive government in the Provincial Council of Valencia has been a hard blow for the PSPV, which sees its last chance to govern a relevant institutional bastion in the Valencian Community recede. .
Pessimism is growing in the Socialist ranks who fear that their former leader, Jorge Rodríguez (he was expelled from his party after being accused in the Alqueria case of which he was finally acquitted), already has a pact with the PP. If they comply with their statements on Thursday and do not vote for either the PP or the PSPV, the government of the Provincial Council would be for the popular ones, as it is the force with the most deputies in the provincial corporation
The harshness of Jorge Rodríguez's statements yesterday charging against the leader of the PSPV, Ximo Puig, against the person in charge of Party Organization and regretting the appointment of Rebeca Torró (who was his right hand in Ontinyent) have generated surprise and disappointment in the socialist ranks.
Yesterday, when asked about the content of Rodríguez's words, Torró bit her tongue and preferred not to answer. Of course, regarding the possibility that the PSPV could vote for the only deputy from La Vall Ens Uneix as provincial president, she limited herself to expressing her wish that "common sense prevail and the Provincial Council has a socialist leader".
In the PSPV they do not rule out that Rodríguez is a bluff to force the negotiations even more, but they see the agreement as complicated.
Neither did the Compromís Ombudsman, Joan Baldoví, want to answer the question of whether his group would end up voting for La Vall to avoid another government of PP and Vox. The Valencian president assured that he is not "still in that phase of the negotiation." However, Baldoví pointed out that "there is a game" since "many things can change in a week". Along these lines, he issued a warning: "The electorate of La Vall Ens Uneix would not understand that the right would end up governing."
