The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has tested positive for Covid-19, as he himself has confirmed through his Twitter account.
"This morning I tested positive for Covid. I will not be able to be with Salvador Illa at the Rose Festival in Gavà", he stated. "I will continue working with extreme precautions."
The President of the Government and Secretary General of the PSOE was going to participate this Sunday in the traditional Festival of the Rose of Gavà (Barcelona) that the Catalan socialists celebrate in September.
On this occasion, the event was accompanied by the Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta; and the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez; as well as the leader of the PSC and former Minister of Health, Salvador Illa.
The socialist candidate in Catalonia has responded through his Twitter account to the setback announced by the president. "A lot of encouragement, president. You will also be with us at the Festa de la Rosa. See you soon in Catalonia. I wish you a quick recovery," he said.
