Neymar and Rodrygo take Ancelotti's arrival in Brazil for granted

In Brazil it is an open secret. The country's press has long taken for granted the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti on the bench of the national team and, although it is not official, in the last few hours two of the canarinha stars have given it up. Neither more nor less than Neymar and Rodrygo have spoken about the incorporation of the now Real Madrid coach at the helm of the Brazil team.

“We will have the opportunity to have a foreign coach. Ancelotti has won everything and he is going to teach us a lot, ”Neymar acknowledged on Brazilian television during a charity event organized by his foundation, the Neymar Jr. Institute in Sao Paulo. A gala attended by 900 guests and among them Rodrygo.

The white footballer, along with Vinícius or Militao, will be one of the Madridistas with whom Ancelotti would coincide in the canarinha. “I can't talk much because I don't know much either”, Rodrygo started before going on to confirm what everyone is talking about in Brazil: “I know that Ancelotti is plan A for the national team. The president is counting on him and we also want him there. For me, for Vini, for Militao… we know him and we know of his greatness”. “Having him in the national team is going to be very important, but there is still nothing confirmed. We hope that when his contract ends he will come to the national team, ”he concluded.

According to O Globo, the Italian coach would arrive on the Brazilian bench in June 2024, once his contract with Real Madrid expired, although he adds that his arrival could be earlier if the results at the white club do not accompany him. They even assure in Brazil that the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, and Ancelotti himself would have drawn up a transition plan for this time and that there would be a team, with someone trusted by the Italian, who would take the reins of the team during the eight games that Brazil must play until June next year, six of them qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

At 64, Carlo Ancelotti has reiterated on more than one occasion that Real Madrid would be the last club he would coach in his career, but directing one of the best teams in the world would be a finishing touch to his career. The Italian coach would also become the first foreign coach in the history of Brazil.
