Despite the little rain, the earth has produced the best decoration to adorn the wheat fields with their flowers of various colors in the surroundings of the town of Casserres, in Berguedà.
In this land, dryland cereal agriculture predominates, as well as the cultivation of potatoes. But the wild flowers advance and color the fields worked by the farmers, as can be seen in The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.
We can appreciate not only the green color, but also the yellow, purple, violet or red nuances. This last color of the queen wild flower, the poppy.
Traditionally it has been associated with agriculture since ancient times. And it is that its life cycle adapts to most cereal crops. So much so that they flower and seed before the harvest, as we see in Casserres.
The poppy is considered a weed, although it is easy to combat with the usual methods of pest control.
